A variation on this is to use a thick and transparent acrylic sheet cut into a rectangle, about a foot high and a couple of inches wide. LEDs set into the base make it a glowing pillar of light. Top this sheet and surround it with flowers. It can become the focal point of your table arrangement.

One of the simplest flower arrangements that cost little but has a lovely look is to take a wide flat bowl, fill it with water, set a candle in the middle and strew colorful petals on the water. Variations on the theme can be in the form of filling the bowl with white powder or tiny thermocole beads and a couple of large glass or acrylic crystals with a flowers inset in bunches in a radial or spiraling pattern.
