Christmas is all about warmth, good cheer and joy. The warmth of the fire, the decorations and the happy feeling inside all contribute to the festive atmosphere. Talking of decorations the flower arrangements are at the heart and taking a little care in choosing the right one will add to the effect.
It is Christmas, not just any other ordinary week or day so it is worth making a little bit of extra effort and spending more than one ordinarily would in choosing Christmas flower bouquets. The concept of beautiful flower arrangement differs from one person to another. The décor too plays a part. Regardless, if one does not wish to exercise much thought then one simply cannot go wrong by choosing red, orange and yellow colored flowers offset with some green foliage for that nice warm feeling. However, one may wish to go beyond the ordinary in which case only the imagination and availability of flowers are limiting factors.
Depart from the ordinary. Use brass or copper wire to create a basic framework that can be spirals, helixes or arranged in a circle with a gentle curve outwards. This is the basic framework on which to weave in flowers. Set it in a short vase surrounded by rocks or Christmas balls and decorations and the effect can be quite different. A variation on the theme is to use coiled spring wire, the type one uses in curtains. Cut about half a dozen pieces and set them with one end tied or nailed or screwed securely to a wooden block. The other end can be left free and upright or bent at an angle and flowers interleaved to create a mobile, in motion flower arrangement.
Another idea to try for the flower arrangement for Christmas is to make use of fiber optic fibers. Colorful LEDs set at the base and fibers radiating up and out, set in the centre of flowers give a delightful look to the ensemble. A variation on this is to use a thick and transparent acrylic sheet cut into a rectangle, about a foot high and a couple of inches wide. LEDs set into the base make it a glowing pillar of light. Top this sheet and surround it with flowers. It can become the focal point of your table arrangement.
One of the simplest flower arrangements that cost little but has a lovely look is to take a wide flat bowl, fill it with water, set a candle in the middle and strew colorful petals on the water. Variations on the theme can be in the form of filling the bowl with white powder or tiny thermocole beads and a couple of large glass or acrylic crystals with a flowers inset in bunches in a radial or spiraling pattern.
